Online registration for K-6 cheer is open now until the end of June

Cheer Practice for the 2023 season is tentatively scheduled to begin June 12.

Who are we?

We cheer for the Central Wilkes Falcons youth football teams in the Blue Ridge Youth Football League.  

Our cheer squads are open to anyone that will be in K - 8 grades in the fall and attend one of the schools in the Central Wilkes Middle School district.  Also eligible are home school kids living in an area served by any of these schools.

• 3rd grade & 4th grade
• 5th grade & 6th grade
• 7th grade & 8th grade

The 7th & 8th grade cheer squad is organized and run by Central Wilkes Middle School.

Practices

Our practice schedule is as follows:

Summer: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 6:00pm - 8:00pm 

When School Starts:  Tuesday and Thursday 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Practice schedule will be adjusted as the days get shorter in the fall.

Summer Practice begins in early June. 

Season

Our season runs from early to mid August until early November.  We compete against the other 3 Wilkes teams as well as Alleghany, Ashe, and Elkin. 

The number of games and the scheduling of these games may change per NCHSAA, district, and league guidelines.

Our cheer squads also compete in an end of year Cheer Challenge with the other cheer squads in our league.  This also may change per NCHSAA, district, and league guidelines.

Uniforms

Each Cheerleader will be provided a Cheer Uniform of Skirt and Shell Shirt.  This uniform MUST be returned at the end of the season or can be purchased at the end of the season.

Cheer Parents will be responsible for paying for the following:

Cheer Shoes,  Socks, Bow, Briefs, Pom Poms, Long Sleeve Undershirt Liner.
